PPI NewsCheck here for the latest news from PPI. February 2007 - Polysilicon plant compressorsPPI has recently been awarded several orders for gases related to the manufacture of Polysilicon. These orders have included multiple quantities of very large diaphragm gas compressors. The gases to be compressed for these projects include Hydrogen, Hydrogen Chloride, and chlorosilane gases such as Trichlorosilane, and Disilane. These gases are used in the production of polysilane crystals. Polysilane crystals are used in the manufacture of amorphous silicon films for photovoltaic (PV) cells (also called solar cells), xerographic photoreceptors, and thin film transistors. February 2007 - Silicon Tetrafluoride compressorsPPI recently shipped two (2) model 9175 silicon tetrafluoride gas diaphragm compressor systems to PCS Phosphate. Silicon Tetrafluoride (SiF4) is used to etch metal silicides, silicon, and polysilicon films. Each compressor system was mounted on an individual skid and included items such as the inlet pulsation dampener, discharge pulsation dampener, and a local control panel. Each silicon tetrafluoride compressor is rated for an inlet pressure of 585 psig (40 barg), an outlet pressure of 2,200 psig (152 barg), and capacity of 193 scfm (310 nm3/hr).
April 2006 - New Office, PPI ChinaPPI is pleased to announce the opening of our new office, PPI China. PPI China is located at Room 301 Million Land House, Guanganmenwai Street, Xuan Wu District, Beijing China 100055. The PPI China office is staffed by Chief Representative, (Jason) Zhai Zhenli. Mr. Zhai has joined PPI after being employed for many years as the primary contact of PPI equipment for the local PPI agent. The establishment of PPI China will enable PPI to serve our customers in China with dedicated local sales and service of PPI diaphragm compressors and other PPI equipment. Mr. Zhai previously has worked for Yanshan Petrochemical as a rotating equipment engineer. The hydrogen diaphragm compressor will be used for fueling vehicles with Hydrogen at pressures up to 5000 psig (350 bar) . The hydrogen compressor is rated for a discharge pressure of 6550 psig (450) barg) and a capacity of 18.5 scfm (30 Nm3/hr) at an inlet pressure of 100 psig (7 barg).
December 2005 - Deokyang Energen Corporation Hydrogen fueling compressorPPI, in December 2005, shipped a model 9L-230132 hydrogen diaphragm compressor to Deokyang Energen Corporation of Korea for their Hydrogen filling plant. The compressor will be used to fill tube trailers with Hydrogen to 3190 psig (220 barg) as well as compress Hydrogen for vehicle fueling to 6200 psig (425 barg) . The hydrogen compressor is rated for a capacity of 250 scfm (400 nm3/hr) at an inlet pressure of 360 psig (25 barg). February 2005 - Liaoyang Petrochemical Company / Foster Wheeler International Corp. Hydrogen compressorsPPI, in February 2005, shipped two (2) model 7L-194194 hydrogen diaphragm compressors to Liaoyang Petrochemical Company of their PTA plant expansion. The project comprised a total of three skidded systems and a stand alone PLC control panel. Each compressor was mounted on an individual skid and a third skid contained common items to each compressor such as the aftercooler, inlet pulsation dampener, discharge pulsation dampener, and common inlet and outlet piping. Each hydrogen compressor is rated for an inlet pressure of 260 psig (18 barg), an outlet pressure of 1,400 psig (97 barg), and a hydrogen capacity of 280 scfm (450 nm3/hr). December 2004 - 1st International Fuel Cell Expo, FC EXPO 2005, Tokyo Big Sight Japan, Pressure Products Industries, Inc., Booth No. 28-20Pressure Products Industries, Inc., in partnership with our Japanese affiliate, PPI Japan, Inc. will be participating in the upcoming FC EXPO at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan from January 19-21, 2005. PPI introduces new B-Series diaphragm compressorsPPI is pleased to introduce our new B-Series diaphragm compressors. The new B-Series diaphragm compressor extends PPI's capabilities into smaller fractional flow rate capacities. The new B-Series diaphragm compressor is a completely enclosed unit with all utility and process connections terminating at bulkhead connections in the enclosure. Flow rates of the new B-Series diaphragm compressors range from 0.008 cfm (0.014 m3/h) to 0.68 cfm (1.16 m3/h) with discharge pressure ratings from 160 psi (11 bar) to 6000 psi (415 bar). The compressor is powered by a 1 HP (0.75 (kW). Overall size of the enclosed compressor is 16 1/4" (410 mm) W x 25 1/2" (647 mm) L x 18 3/4" (470 mm) H. November 2003 - 2003 Fuel Cell SeminarPPI exhibited at the 2003 Fuel Cell Seminar held in Miami Beach, FL November 3-7, 2003. PPI exhibited a working model of a metal diaphragm Hydrogen compressor. September 2003 - Powertech Labs Inc.Powertech Labs Inc. of Surrey, British Columbia commissioned a PPI Hydrogen diaphragm compressor model 5060 for use in the world's first 700 bar (10,000 psi) Hydrogen fueling station. The Hydrogen fueling station is part of the CH2IP, Compressed Hydrogen Infrastructure Program. The compressor will operate at a discharge pressure of 875 bar (12,500 psi) with a capacity of 40 Nm3/hr (25 scfm). The 875 bar Hydrogen will be contained in storage cylinders from Dynetek Industries.

May 2003 - NWSA Spring Management ConferencePPI will be participating in the Contact Booth Program at the National Welding Supply Association in Chicago on May 7, 2003. The metal diaphragm compressor is designed to handle high purity or hazardous gases in a non-contaminating and leak tight manner. January 2003 - Senju Hydrogen Station, Tokyo Gas ChemicalPPI shipped a Hydrogen compressor to Tokyo Gas Chemical for the Japan Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Demonstration Project (JHFC). The Fuel Cell station compressor will be part of the Senju Hydrogen Station. The Hydrogen compressor will be used to compress Hydrogen gas to a pressure of 40 MPa. The Hydrogen will be contained in a storage vessel and will be used for refuelling of fuel cell vehicles. The Senju Hydrogen Station will have the capacity to refuel 5 passenger vehicles continuously.
December 2002 - Daibeck New MaterialsPPI shipped four diaphragm compressors Model 4X260 to Daibeck New Materials for Nitrogen Trifluoride, NF3, service. The NF3 compressors were equipped with Stainless Steel and Inconel process contacting materials of construction. The capacity is 25 Nm3/hr and the compressors are driven by a 4Kw electric motor.
December 2002 - New EmployeesPPI is pleased to announce the hiring of Robert Filosa and Tom Morris. Both Bob and Tom come to PPI from Howden Compressors, formerly Burton Corblin North America. Bob joins PPI as our Customer Service Manager and Tom as a project engineer. Both Bob and Tom have extensive experience with diaphragm compressors. April 2002 - California Fuel Cell PartnershipPPI will be participating in the CaFCP Technology Forum on April 25, 2002. PPI will exhibit our diaphragm compressor technology for Hydrogen Fuel Cell applications.
